The autorun virus is the most common virus found in every system. This virus is became most common because the large use of USB drives, pen drives, thumbs etc..To avoid the attack several antivirus software's are present, but it is not fully secured. We can prevent the autorun virus using the Winrar software effectively. 

                   When we inserting the pen drive for such operations like copying file, moving file, opening the pen drive from the autorun mode etc, the autorun virus will enter the system. The autorun virus will create a file in the 'system volume information' folder, and it will lock the folder as well as the drive. To avoid the attack of the autorun virus  use the following steps, 

1.when inserting the pen drive please press the shift key. which will help you to stop the autorun process of the pendrive.(used in windows XP)

2. The easy way to see the virus from the pen drive using the WINRAR application. winrar is a powerful archive manager, which help to create the zip or rar files. Using this winrar we ca see all the hidden files & folders. so install the winrar software in your system. The link is given above.   

   3.After installing winrar open the pen drive using winrar & find the files such as, Autorun.inf,RECYCLER in your pendrive .these are the file which make ur system infected from the autorun virus.These files can only seen  by winrar software. 

4.Select these files & press shift+del key to delete permanently from the system.
